Hi. On windows I use an app called C Cleaner to delete unneeded files and fix registry errors. Does the Mac need cleaning like Windows does or not? If it does, what is a cleaner that I can use that is accessible? Thank you.

hi, got a few questions about folders. in the menu under file there is new folder,new folder with selection,smart folder, and burn folder. what is the difference between new folder and new smart folder? what is the new folder with selection for? what is the burn folder for?

I have Gmail successfully setup on my iPhone using the latest IOS, and now I want to set it up on my Mac Mini which is running El Capitan.
My concern is that I have nearly 4300 Gmail messages. When I add the Gmail account on my Mac, will all these messages flood my Inbox? Is there a procedure that will allow me to avoid this?

I am considering switching away from windows to a mac when my pc finally gives up the ghost, the ability to reinstall the OS without help and trouble shoot issues, along with very good quality hardware sound like good advantages to me.
I don't have ready access to a mac, and have never used one before, I thought as a first step I would like to try using mountain lion running in a vmware virtual machine under windows just so I can try the interface out etc.
Now, I realise that as I wouldn't be running the OS on a proper mac I wouldn't have access to all the macs features, so this is where m

Hi all,
I am in need of a solution to remotely access my Mac. I use my Mac to run two Broadcastify feeds, and I need to be able to access it remotely if something goes wrong and I need to restart the broadcasts.
From reading previous posts on AppleVis, it appears that Jump Desktop is accessible with VoiceOver. If so, does anyone know if it would work for this scenario? For the iOS app, is an external keyboard required (I would think it would be). Is there anything else that you think would be good for me to know?

I have never used a Mac but I'm a windows power user.
It's time for me to learn the Mac and I plan to start with all the great information on this site. I can read it with my iPHONE or Windows laptop while I play with the mac, and I know there are other voiceover tutorials online as well.

I am using Voice over. Does anybody know how to edit in one track in Logic pro x. I would like to copy or cut one part of one track, but I can not find a method how to mark the area I want to move or copy, or cut. I also wonder how to equalize each track on its own.
Now a Safari question: If I go into one article in for example a newspaper, or into one of the questions in this forum, how do I get back again where I was before clicking the item.

Can I save drafts as HTML-documents or save them on the blog as a draft, so I can work with it across devices such as my iPhone and my Mac?
Can I use MarsEdit for helping with creating the HTML-code lik inserting links, headings etc. like a HTML-editor?

Hello! Today I have got my first mackbook air 13 2017. And I have got lots of questions about it. First, how do I download an enhanced version of the voiceover voice? I tried to launch the voiceover utility, interacted with speech, but than I saw a dialog like configured languages and there was Russian language. But I cannot find the way to download an enhanced version of voices. Also, I couldn't understand how to use appstore. There were lots of links like featured apps, but I couldn't find the search field. What should I do to find it? I need to download Skype to my Mac.

I am not sure of what websites this works with and which ones it does not work with Except for iDownload blog. The first time I went there on my Mac, I got a pop up alert asking me if this site could send me notifications. I said yes. This has not happened to me on any other sites. However, now, every time iDownload blog publishes a new article, if my mac is turned on, I get a notification. Is there a way to enable these website notifications for iOS? Also, what other websites support this feature? Thank you.

Can you just open a blank document and start writing like you can with Microsoft Word? can you save a file as a word document so it can be read by someone using a windows pc? I currently own an Iphone 6 plus and used to own an Ipad 4th generation, so I'm thinking of switching.
I teach over the Internet, so I will be doing word processing and occational work with presentations and spreadsheets. HOw accessible is I work on the mac?
I can read activities in the browser and I understand there is preview for reading Pdf documents. Will it be possible for me to export pdf documents in order to send them to students, for example? What do you do if you must ill out a pdf? Is there anything else I should be aware of?

1. How to convert a Word document into Markdown? I'm interested especially in the bold, italics and underlined text. After importing it, I noticed it doesn't automatically display these as markdown and I would like to be able to convert them in order to read them easier with my Braille display.
