I know there have been many discussions on reading ebooks on this site. I'm looking for something very specific.
Is there an application on Mac which allows navigation using arrow-keys through EPub content? I have some books which contain program source code, and it would be great to be able to simply navigate through them line-by-line.
It's no big deal if this isn't available, I can download the program source code from the books' companion websites. However it would be nice if this weren't necessary.
I am an on m2 MacBook Air and love the experience when it comes to dealing with e-mail, a little web browsing and managing calendars and todo-lists.
Recently I received 2 different bills I have to pay in pdf as pdf documents.
It takes me relatively a lot of time to deal with this kind of document.
Reading those simply constructed but very inaccessible pdfs took me a lot of time.
Preview is difficult because I have to keep interacting with page by page within the document.
Good day everyone
I've been wondering is there a safe way to read film subtitles in my favourite VLC for Mac? As of now it looks like there's a hitch because I just can't locate any setting for VO or another TTS to do so

Hello all,
How can I read text embedded in images that are part of an email? Sometimes I get poems, small articles, etc. as images and I would like to read them without having to request the sender to send them to me in text format?
Does any one knows how to read the content of merged cells in Numbers for Mac? For some reason just moving to the cell won't do it. The strange thing is that in some rare occasions it read it to me by just moving into the cell, but I haven't been able to reproduce the process to find out how to do it always. My only solution is to enter in edit mode to check the content of the cell, but that is not efficient.
Hello! I learn programming on python and for the most part I use visual studio code environment for coding tasks. But sometimes it happens that I need to read the terminal. The question is: how do I navigate between the output of the terminal with VoiceOver? Is it possible? I tried to do that with command+arrows or option+arrows but nothing worked. I get the same problem in visual studio code. I am using a macbook air 2017, macOs 10.15.4 and zsh as a default terminal. What can I do? How can I read a terminal output with VO? Thank you!
I have been using the latest version of Pages on my Air and find it very accessible and useful. I can easily review and edit documents and track changes for others' use.
In Word, I can turn on the feature that allows JAWS to indicate where tracked changes are shown. In Pages, I have not found a way to review what is tracked, either by me or others.
Any suggestions?
One thing I'm trying to do is read books using Apple Books. I can read a page at a time, but I'm wondering if it's possible to have Voiceover continuously read like you can with the iOS version where the pages turn automatically?
Just so you know, I currently don't have a mouse or trackpad, just a Bluetooth keyboard.
I am coming to VoiceOver with more knowledge with JAWS. When reading a Word document and I come to a heading, I notice VoiceOver doesn't announce that it's a heading or a heading level. I found this surprising. JAWS would say that the text is a heading and it's level. When I use the rotor VO + U , I the headings are listed but it doesn't have the heading levels.
Hi,
In my university Outlook-based webmail service for students, and when I open an email in quite normal HTML page, I browse to the body of the email and when I switch the QuickNav to read word by word, VoiceOver skip to the next link and it does not read word by word when I move with the down arrow, although it does still on Links.
I even noticed that in AppleVis site but I forgot exactly where it happens. Sorry for my lack of knowledge about explaining my problem in clearer terms as I am still new to OS X.
has anybody faced this problem?
Thank you all.
I've been getting really hard into music production, and the biggest hurdle standing in my way is the DAW. Currently I use a trial version of Reaper on a Windows machine, but the more I try to use it, the more I resent how Windows handles audio, USb, and MIDI. I've been considering giving a Mac another go exclusively as an audio production rig, so probably a Mac Mini with tons of RAM, as well as Logic. I've used GarageBand on my iPhone and I very much like the fact that there are instruments built in, and I know that both are built on the same codebase.
Hi, I've downloaded all three of these to my MacBook Pro. I'm pretty sure Reaper is downloaded successfully, as it opens fine. I'm also sure SWS is installed because it's showing in the Reaper menus. I followed the instructions for downloading and installing Osara, but the keymap doesn't seem to have changed in Reaper. It's looks just as it did before I installed Osara.
I installed Reaper, then SWS, then Osara. Can anyone think what the problem might be.
Thanks,
Kate
hello members, i'm a music producer where i'm producing currently on reaper with windows from 4 to 5 years, but recently, I have got a macbook m1 with 256 GB of ssd thinking that, I can learn logic as I'm having an idea of reaper but, i'm feeling dificult to work. does logic is not that accessible or i'm not able to understand the software i'm confused. I love to learn logic as it is used by many sited folks out their. I would be glad if someone get connected with me personally to teach me to use logic.
I was just being bored when I discovered this.
No need to use drag and drop with VoiceOver on mac to rearrange apps in the doc. Just vo+d, go on the element you want to move, and then option left or right arrow to move that element in the corresponding direction. I don't know if it's new in Tahoe or not though.
So I updated to 26. It put my external drive at the bottom of the list on the desktop, it used to be right after "Macintosh HD". How do I put it back there? I've tried dragging with VO-comma and VO-less than, and cmd-shift-VO-space, moving with VO-arrows, and hitting cmd-shift-VO-space again. That put a copy of something else into the drive I'm trying to move. It wont' be the end of the world if it stays this way, but I do hit that drive the most, so it would be nice to get it back that way, if it's possible.
