Does anybody know if there's a way to change the order in which Voiceover on the Mac announces the heading level of text? For example - by default Voiceover reads: "Heading Level One", then the text. I would much prefer if it read the text first, then the heading level. Is there a way to flip this? I believe there is in NVDA, but wasn't sure if VO allows for such customization.

Hi everyone. I have a Mac from 2011 that just seems like it takes an insanely long time to boot up. Like my old windows pcs did. Is there anything i can do to figure out how to improve it? We're not talking a huge hard drive full of music or photos or anything like that. I looked in the log in options, there's only the itunes helper and i think one more thing. Hi all. For the life of me, I can't seem to fix this. The system voice, as in the one which tells you the time, or the notifications, or battery low, is as slow as molasses. I can't figure out how to increase the rate to something that doesn't sound so slow. I've looked online, tried various things, so far no luck. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Is there any way to speed up the voice in self-voicing games, e.g. Onslaught? I assumed they use the system voice, which I have set at a fairly decent speed. But if they are, they're ignoring my setting. It sounds like it's on the slowest rate setting. I'd like to get it closer at least to the speed I normally use with Voiceover, because the transition back to it is a little jarring.

I recently updated to Big Sur. I have found that, when I spell check in the messages app, when it highlights a misspelled word, and I do VO shift M, to bring up the context menu to get suggestions, VO is silent. Spell check still works as expected in other apps. Can anyone offer me any guidance with regard to how to get around this problem?

Is anyone familiar with spell check in Pages? I pressed command+semi-colon to run document check, and the misspelled words after correcting are visually invisible by showing a blank space (as if the word is completely erased), while Voiceover still reads these words just as normal. Any help with this situation is appreciated.

Has anyone reported to Office that the spellcheck in word 2016 preview is an image of the misspelled word and not the actual word to voiceover users?

I use to be able to press down arrow in previous versions of Mac Os to get the spelling suggestions and could press return to select it. However in Sierra, this doesn't appear to be working. When ever I press down arrow after a misspelled word, voiceover doesn't say anything. does this still work reliably? I should add that I have gotten this to work once or twice but it doesn't appear to be working reliably like it use to in el Capitan.

I've been using MacOS on a basic level for a few years now, but have always wondered what the horizontal and vertical splitters are.

Voiceover reads them out to me, but I've never had a need to interact with them or fully get a grasp on what it is they are able to do.

Is there ever a time when someone like myself with no sight at all would need to interact or use them with Voiceover? Or can I continue to ignore them!

Can someone tell me how to split a video on iMovie on Mac using VoiceOver please?
When I navigate to the timeline, press play to get to the point that I want to trim the video, press space to pause then command B to split the video the Mac just beeps me like it does when you have pressed the wrong shortcut keys.
What am I doing wrong please? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Is there a way to have VoiceOver come through one ear of headphones while all of the rest of the computer sounds, such as a meeting or music, go through the other ear?

I've changed the spoken content voice to Alex voice, but when I load RS Games, it uses Samantha. Is this not the voice to adjust? Thanks.

I have a Macbook Pro 2013 13 inches running Mohave OSX 10.14.6, I'm blind and use VoiceOver and usually have screen brightness turned down as well as Screen Curtain On. In terms of accessories, I have a bluetooth keyboard that I heavily rely on but I always have that turned Off when not in use as to not send a bluetooth signal to wake up my machine unintentionally. I have no other accessories connected to my machine either wired or wireless, even my Apple Watch charger is connected directly to the wall.

I am looking for a sports app that would allow me to access radio stations from around the world as well as local sports stations for either an IPod touch or a Mack computer. I did have the ESPN radio app but, they have changed and I am no longer able to access information with VoiceOver on the IOS device.
Any and all help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know if Spotify works with the ac?

I used to have the app for Mac and used it all the time. I preferred that over the web player. Anyway, it recently stopped working. After doing the software update, I tried again, still no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled and, and it says "spotify window" but won't actually open.

Any tips?
