Is there a way to enable and disable audio ducking with a keyboard shortcut
Mac
Good people of the Applevis realm.
I am wondering if anyone has any good resources for getting started with Logic Pro? I know there used to be some resources like blind logic.com and icandothisthing.com but in my journeys round the internet today I was no longer able to locate those sites.
Any resources would be greatly appreciated.
Also on a somewhat related note I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for accessible audio editing software that lends itself particularly well to the podcast idiom.
Thank you so much in advance,
Greg
Hi all,
I'm currently working on my podcast project for this year.
In Windows, I used to use Sound forge, which was a fantastic piece of software and I loved using it. I have seen it's also available for Mac. However, the Β£250 price tag is something that had made me double check whether I should purchase it.
So, first question, is it as accessible as it used to be a few years ago?
Question 2: Are there any better audio editors for Mac that are more affordable but still provide similar or the same features?
Hubert.
Hi all,
I've got back into doing radio shows recently and one of them is a weekly pre-recorded show. At the moment the way I'm recording it is by copying and pasting my tracks (MP3 or M4A files) into GarageBand and adjusting the volume of each track accordingly. However, a really serious problem I'm having is I can't fade down music for a few seconds while I talk, and then fade it back up.
Hi. I am wondering if it is possible to split and merge audio files and edit parts of sound out in Fission? If you can, how? If not, are there any free or cheep Mac apps that will do this? Thank you.
So I am working on audio book and have hired some guys to do the voice acting. I use Mac and I thought I can edit the audio file and add my own sound effects. My question is what app do you recommend to edit the file and how accessible is it? Basically the app has to support adding echoes and trimming and reducing any noise, so familiar audio editing stuff.
I appreciate any help.
Hi all. I was wondering whether any of you may be able to offer any suggestions.
This would have previously been a fairly simple task when I had sight however not so much now. I'm looking for some audio editing software compatible with VoiceOver and fairly simple to use, as I only need to make basic clips at the moment. For instance, I would like to add some background music to an interview I have previously done.
Many thanks,
Nathan

I have been wondering what audio games can we as a visually impaired individual play on the Mac in macOS 15?
I donβt mean playing iOS games on Mac but audio games specifically designed for it.
Ever wanted to play games like Crazy Party, Swamp, and Undead Assault without the lag of running in a vm, or having to reboot into bootcamp? Now you can with audiogame-manager. Audiogame-manager makes it possible using wine and other utilities to automate installing and launching games. This will require using the terminal.
Hello, I recently created an audio hijack session with logic, voiceover, and my microphone, going into three separate files.
I was able to create the session just fine, and when I start recording the files, everything seems to be fine.
When I load the three files up in my audio editor that is multi track, for some strange reason after a little while and no editing at all, my VoiceOver track seems to get a head of itself.
Everything else is still in line, but the voiceover track seems to be further along in the project.
Hi all,
This is a revised message I sent Rogueamoeba about this issue I'm having. I submitted two podcasts to applevis recently, both of which had volume issues as a result of this problem. Perhaps maybe some of you can shed some light on this issue, because the last thing I want to do is mess with SoundFlower as this stuff should be relatively simple to do. If someone can give instructions on how to do this with SoundFLower though, I'm all ears. Every time I mess with it I somehow end up with no speech in the middle of my experimentation.
Hello,
Hi, Sean here. I just recently purchased Audio Hijack 3 and am really loving it so far. I just need to figure out a few things. I was able to start it up, I had it use the System audio template and was then able to add my Olympus DM20 recorder's mic as an input. But, for some reason, the mic and the system audio are being recorded in to 2 separate files. Could anyone please help me adjust things so everything get's recorded in to 1 audio file. But, I wanna make it so I don't hear the mic coming back at me through the speaker. Thanks so very much for your help in advance.
There was someone up here the other day, I think Tyson was his name, who was going to try helping me, but I never heard back from him.
I am so frustrated right now with Audio hijack, I'm ready to just give up and throw this piece of crap out the window!
First, I do get the concept of the x and y axis. I do get the concept of sources, and blocks. I get that each source block connects to another block to form your audio flow.
Hi all,
I'm running MacOS Sonoma Version 14.2.1 on a 2020 Mac Mini..
Ever since the Sonoma update, if an audio message has a transcript, I'm unable to play the message on my Mac. If there is no transcript, I can play the message perfectly fine.
Has anybody found a work around for this? Perhaps more usefully, a way to turn off audio message transcripts?
Thanks in advance!
I've noticed a fairly major issue that has arisen since I"ve u pdated to Mac OS Sierra, namely that I now cannot play audio in Safari. Youtube remains audible, but no other page I've tried seems to work. As an example, mlb.com will no longer work. as anyone else had this issue, and if so, have you figured out a workaround?
Thanks
Hello.
I'd like to introduce a newly released game which runs on MacOS X. Sorry if I'm missing templates or rules about the topic location; I'm new here.

Hi guys:
I have made an audio notes applescript and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in grabbing a copy. If so, I will upload it on my site.
It needs homebrew and sox.
