Hi, I was hoping someone here could assist me with the drag and drop feature on Mac. I'm trying to install crome, and according to the instructions online, I'm supposed to open the downloaded file and drag and drop it into the applications folder.
Anyone have experience with this and can explain it?
Hi all!
Anybody had any good experiences with drag and drop? I have a program that needs info dragged from one window to another. Voiceover says they both need to be on the screen at the same time. Any ideas on how I might go about this? Wouldn't a keystroke be nice at this point. The Program is MacGourmet, which is a great recipe management software package but they have a relationship thing where you can make relationships between recipes or notes or whatever and that's what I am trying to do.
Thanks for any help.
Jim
Hello all,
I have been looking at a program I heard mentioned on Accessibility. It is called Drag thing. Has anyone used this program before and if so how did you like it? It is a doc replacement that allows you to pin different items to the doc as well as have folders on the doc.
They say there's a way to do it from the menu, but I don't see an import option in the menu. Also, copy and paste doesn't work, I've tried that already, unless I'm doing it wrong. Here's what I'm doing:
Hey everyone.
I was just wondering whether anybody could tell me if there is a way of dragging and dropping items into web areas in safari or specific websites that require drag and drop.
For example, If I want to drag and drop a file that is on my desktp to a website like my school portal that allows for drag and drop, is this possible?
If somebody could let me know a soon as possible, that would be reatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone and have a good day.

So, I installed Mountain Lion from internet recovery yesterday and was going through the what's new in VOiceOver section. I found the rewind and fastforward commands as well as something that said you can now drag and drop items to hotspots. Does anyone know how to do this? I can't find any documentation on this and I'm back on Yosemite.
I want to save a file from Voice Memos. Apple support says, just drag a recording to the Finder. So I go to the desktop, and hit cmd-shift-o, to open documents. I cmd-tab to the Voice Memos window. I interact with the library and hit VO-comma, which marks my recording for dragging. I cmd-tab back to documents. I hit Vo-period. Voiceover says "window may be hidden".
Hello,
This is a rather odd question, and one that I have yet to solve, so I thought I'd reach out to the AppleVis community, to see if anyone could figure this out. I have an external hard drive that appears on my mac's desktop every time it is plugged in. For a while, it was the first icon on the desktop, which is the way I wanted it to stay. About 2 days ago, I added a few files to the desktop, and immediately, all of my icons, including the external hard drive icon, got completely rearranged into a random order.
I have a family member who is blind and we are having a hard time getting Dragon Dictate and VoiceOver to not step on each other. VoiceOver works well when using the keyboard, but when you open Dictate is starts "hearing" VoiceOver and things get messy very quickly. If VoiceOver is turned off right after opening Dragon Dictate, and turned back on when done using Dictate, it sort of works. The problem is that for straight dictation Dictate is better, far more accurate really. VoiceOver and "OSX Dictation" only do so much.
Hi Does anyone know about the accessibility of Dragon Dictate for Mac version 3 with Mavericks? What would be the advantages of the Nuance product over the build in Mac dictation functionality?
Thanks.
Scott
hi everyone, I hope your well. I'm currently running high Sierra in uni I used to use dragon dictate but I've heard that nuance has pretty much abandoned dragon dictate on Mac so whats a good replacement for dragon dictate? your help with this question would be most welcome, kind regards trey.
Dropbox is not exactly friendly for the visually impaired.
(1) How can Dropbox be made more accessible when using a Mac computer?
(2) Is Dropbox doing anything to make the product more accessible? Who is in charge of accessibility at Dropbox?
Is there a way I can set some dropbox folders to sync and some not to? Also, is there a way for me to delete files in the dropbox folder from my Mac without them being deleted from the DropBox website?
Dunno if this problem popped up previously, but, i have installed, and reinstalled dropbox on my mac mini which i got 2 days ago, and every time i launch it, apart from the very first time when i was able to put in all my credentials, all thatt VO says, is "dropbox has no windows".
Any ideas on how to solve it?
Hi all. The dropbox app for the mac doesn't always seem to update itself. I thought that was the case, so redownloaded it and install went fine. What i can't figure out is why I can't put things into the folders anymore. Say I had a folder name Dan and I. I used to be able to go to that folder, right arrow, and paste. Now I don't know why it won't seem to do that. i'm in I think they call it list view if anyone knows, please let me know as i'd like to go back to sharing again soon. :)
Hi, I've only recently started using Monterey and installed dropbox on it. I was able to install and set up dropbox fine and it seems to be working but I've just noticed that, unlike on older versions of macOS, there doesn't seem to be any sort of status information in the menu bar - at least nothing is being read by VoiceOver.
While syncing db on my mac, I find that along with the files, I have these dot files with the same name as the other files, said files get uploaded to my dropbox account.
Also, I'm shared with a folder that is read only. I then get another folder with the same name as the read only folder, except the folder name has conflicted at the end of said folder name.
