Hello I am starting to use the trackpad with Voice Over on my Mac OS X and wonder if there is a gesture to use on the trackpad which is the equivalent of mouse right click. Is this possible? Thank you for any responses.

I've had a Mac for a while now but there's a couple of things I kept wanting to ask, but it was one of those things I never got round to for some reason.
1. Does anyone know of an equivilant to the home and end keys on windows? I would proffer to use them for things like when using iMessage, I sometimes have to scrole down the full conversation to read the last few messages, or for scroling straight to the bottom or top of a document, similar to pressing CTRL +home or end on Windows.
2. Does anyone know how to use spell-check when not in an Apple app?

I have an old macbook, early 2008 running Mountain Lion. The wifi stopped working suddenly a few days ago. It was working then stopped. I had not updated or installed anything. I have been trying everything I could find online to fix it but nothing helped. So I decided to erase the hard drive and reinstall the os thinking it might fix things and I've nothing to lose at this point. I held down command r as I restarted. I chose disk utility, then the disk to erase, the format style, and name, then clicked erase. A confirm box came up and again clicked erase. Then nothing happens.

Hi, I need to open a dot jar app and it keeps showing this message:
Operation can't be completed, . Unable to locate a Java Runtime.
I have downloaded the last java installation, have installed it like 10 times, , and it is supposed to have a java control center or icon under the macOS settings menu, but there is no such thing, so I think that java is not installing after all, or any suggestions?

Hi again everyone. I have heard that Eset Internet Security is available for Mac; has anyone had experience with it? When I tried to install it, it got stuck in the Installer window and VoiceOver was saying "Installer has no windows." I aborted the process thinking it had frozen or crashed. I have not used a Mac since 2017 and I know there is a lot that has changed. That's why I'm asking this. Is Eset accessible on Mac? If not, what's a good security tool that includes antivirus and malware protection?

Hi All. I created an Evernote account online and signed in to the apps on iPhone and iPad no problem. However I am having trouble signing in to the Mac app. On opening the Mac app I am presented with a window with text fields for email address, username and password, but these only seem to be for creating a new account. There is a Register button, but no button or option that I can find for signing in to an existing account.

has anyone already tested how the new Macs with the M1 chip (also called Apple Silicon) behave when running iOS and iPadOS apps on those Macs using VoiceOver? Is it a comparable experience to running those apps on an iPhone or iPad? It would be awesome to have the same accessibility on macOS as one can have on iOS or iPadOS when using apps like Facebook Messenger or Voice Dream Reader.

I would appreciate any comments on the accessibility of Dragon Dictate on the Mac. Also any thought on ease of us for both controlling the Mac and entering text. I have searched the applevis site and have found a couple of references to Dragon Dictate on the Mac, but no reviews or extensive discussion. I'm interested particularly in Dragon with the legal dictionary. Thanks.

I am currently completing a research project in college to do with the accessibility of Apple's logic suite, and it would be very valuable if some of the logic users out there in the Applevis community could share their experiences, both positive and negative, with logic and VO. As a music technology student, I use Logic pro every day, and I'm aware of many issues and workarounds. I am very interested to know the wider community's knowledge and opinion on these. It would be great to hear people's real life examples of issues and workarounds that they have developed.

Hey everyone, I was playing with Google docs yesterday, in the OS 10 crome browser and it seems almost usable now. Of course since it is a Google product it is finicky, but it seems to offer some promise. I was wondering if anyone has had experience using this service. Any info and thoughts would be appreciated. I'm primarily interested in the service as an alternative way to access word docs and pdf files. The specific questions I have are, one, how do you edit a file? I was able to do it once, but I was not able to reproduce.

The subject says it all. What does this feature do? What are some practical examples? I can't upgrade to Monterey and won't be getting a new Mac until Apple demonstrates they're committed to VoiceOver development once again, but I'm curious what this does. As usual, Apple's documentation provides no information.

Hello to all. I'm trying to export an event from a calendar to a .ics file so I can email it to all of my peoples. I have found no way of doing this. is there a way to do this/ I have found the way to export a calandar but that's not what I want.
googling is not helping either as the info is about 3 years old.
