I’m not sure when this started—probably with macOS 15.7. Sometimes when web pages load, VoiceOver cannot interact with the pages, saying the web content is empty when it’s not. We can still navigate with the keyboard focus, but VO cannot be used to navigate properly. Rebooting VO doesn’t often solve the issue; refreshing the page is the only reliable solution. However, there are times when you wouldn’t want to refresh a page, such as when filling out a form. I have this issue on Safari as well.

Hello all,
I have noticed some issues with Voiceover on my Mac. First Voiceover is randomly changing its volume. This will happen in different apps. I will be navigating and Voiceover will get softer than after a second or two it goes back to normal. Is anyone else seeing this?
Next I am noticing an issue in Safari. If I have hints turned off in Voiceovers verbosity settings, I am not told if an element I move to is a heading, a button an edit field or the like. Is this normal behavior?

Greg Wocher
Hi All,
I'm wondering has anyone else noticed the accessibility issues with the latest version of iTunes?
In areas such as the get info window and activity pop over, all that VoiceOver announces is text.
In some cases, I can interact with the text and the proper label is read by VoiceOver.
If this is an issue experienced by many, hopefully a future update will rectify the issue.
Kind regards,
Niall
As of Sonoma, VoiceOver no-longer reads dynamic content in the Wordpress block editor. For example if you press the forward slash (/) on an empty block to bring up the block list, VoiceOver won't read the suggestions. This occurs even with the option to report dynamic content changes enabled in Voiceover utility. Are any other Wordpress users out there experiencing this and does anyone have a fix or know what caused this to break? Reported to Apple Accessibility but I no-longer hold out any hope that anything will get fixed by Apple.
Does VoiceOver have a keyboard shortcut to read the status bar of windows? I searched the command section of the VO Utility and found nothing. I thought it couldd be named something different.
TIA
Hi,
I'm an italian blind user.
When I restart my Mac on Recovery Mode or Disk Utility, I select the os language to Italian but the TTS language is English Daniel.
Any solution to select another language?
Thanks.
hello all
I study languages and also use the Arabic TTS besides the English and sometimes I need the german tts
I'm using iphone5 with ios 8.1, as you know voiceover supports language autoswitching so I don't need to use the roter to change language to read a text.
so what about the mac OSx, does voiceover support autoswitching, or I have to change the roter to change the language
I was told that It's not working on mac, so please let me know,
or maybe there is an option to activate or deactivate such a feature
Hello to all,
I am wondering if anyone else is noticing the following issue with the most recent update to the current Mac OS?
I have experienced VoiceOver loosing speech at times when switching from window to window. Mostly it seems to happen when I am switching from my virgual machine with windows 10 to a mac window.
When atttempting to toggle it on again voiceOver does not even say "voiceover on."
Thanks for any information.
I think this might be an M1-specific issue in conjunction with Monterey. First, as of buying this M1 running Big Sir, I could not change the "turn display off after" slider in the Battery system preferences panel. Although I can move the slider, navigating away from and back to the panel returns it to two minutes. That's actually only the background for the new Monterey issue I'm experiencing.
hi all,
I updated to the new high Sierra, and the auto-language detection doesn't work at all, I tried more than a language but still the same issue.
has anyone tried it and found it working?
thanks
Hi all, I was using pages on mac tonight. At one point, I either hit the function key or the mouse, and brought up a menu. I pressed escape and worked on my document. When I pressed function, option and up arrow to go up page by page, I got how many lines were visible, (one line) but no announcement of what page I was on. Usually I get the page number information. I tried with another document, and got the same issue. I restarted my mac and still don't hear the page numbers. If anyone knows how to fix this I would be very grateful.
Just recently, Voiceover no longer reads the names of the folders. I am in list view and all it says is "Collapsed Disclosure Triangle". This only happens with folders and not files. The way I remedy this is to relaunch Finder but it is only a temporary fix.
When I am navigating tables in Microsoft Excel, Voicover is not announcing the column or row headers.
I have tried the VO + C command to have Voiceover read out the column header, however this doesn't seem to work.
I have tried to reset my Voiceover settings, however that didn't seem to help either.
I have made sure to go into voiceover utility and under the verbosity menu i have selected speak column headers when navigating a table.
Will appreciate if anybody can help me figure this out.
Thank You
Hi All, VoiceOver is not tracking properly on my MacBook. It has the most recient updates.
When writing e-mails in Mail, afrer a few words letters start getting skipped, and if I delete the selete key will write the skipped letter.
VoiceOver is also falling behind, or just not peeforming the action I have requested.
It is acting like the keyboard, the Mac, and VoiceOver are all doing their own thing. It has made my Mac pretty useless. I have tried changing voices and it seemed to fix it fir a couole days, but it's back to a mess now.
Any advice?
Hi folks,
I have followed the instructions on the site to turn on voiceover at login screen on my Macbook Pro. Everything appears as it should be, however voiceover is still not starting at the login screen. I am a new Mac User and have had my machine for one week. Is there something I am missing? Do I need to change something in Voiceover settings? Any help appreciated.
Hi AppleVis members. There was a time when using voiceover in a Mac mini without a display caused problems. Is that still the case? If so, is there a solution during times when a display is not available?
