Hi: After listening to the wonderful podcast on how to remap the voiceover keys to capslock, I went through the entire process. Unfortunately, I got to the stage where keyboard help now recognises the capslock key as the vo keys, but not in combination with any other key. So I get control option "K" instead of keyboard help. When I try the new vo key with another key, I get a sound but nothing happens. I went back through the steps and can't work out what I've missed. Does anyone have this problem or have any suggestions? Is there a way to start from the beginning?

I installed 2 apps, crome and music manager. They did not do what I wanted so I deleted them from my apps folder, and ran disk cleaner pro, but the apps still seem to be on my mac as every time I turn it on they start in the background and I have to cmd q them. Help please. Thank you.

Hi; does anyone know of a safe way to resize partitions that are no longer used on a Mac with El Capitan? I have an external drive which has 3 partitions and I want to reclaim space from one of them. Unfortunately, disc utility is causing me great difficulty as I can delete the partition but have trouble resizing. I don't want to make a mistake and lose data. How can I resize safely with disc utility? The pie chart is not usable with voiceover. Alternatively, does anyone know of a good partition manager that can be safely used with voiceover? Thanks.

Hi; After experiencing untold frustrations with preview, I finally downloaded skim only to discover another brick wall. Am I missing something? When I set all pdf documents to open using skim, I get confronted with a couple of tables, and some options but no document. There is a text content where I can go from the start to finish but I can't read the individual lines in the text. A sighted person advised me that it is a solid block of text. What do I have to do to set up skim to read documents. I could at least get preview to read the same document.

I have been trying to use Excel and can’t figure out what’s going on. I can navigate the sheet, but can’t seem to get focus to a particular cell. I’m trying to cut and paste some data, and I always end up with data from a cell other than the one I am focused on. I can’t seem to edit cells either.

Hi all. I have a question about using the mouse pointer on the Mac. I have an app, that is not accessible to voiceover. When I open the app, voiceover says app has no windows, and I want to move to a certain button or thing in the app. Can I use the mouse pointer so that speaks what is under the mouse pointer?

I am thinking of purchasing Open Drive for cloud content storage purposes. However I can't seem to figure out how you make files / or folders online to save space.
I have tried the abligotory VO shift M option to go to the context menu as it were but don't see any options to make it online from there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi. I have had enough of wordpress. I have tried it on the iOS app, safari on iOS and windows xp with nvda. No matter what I do or how much time and patients I give it, can not figure it out. Do you think it will work better on the mac then the other devices I have tried or should I not even bother? The only way I can make my pages go in the order I want them is to use the numbers in front of the names and I don't want the pages to have numbers in them. If I don't put in the numbers wordpress just puts the pages in elphabeticly order which is also not how I want them.

I don't know what happened. Yesterday, I was happily using Apple Mail. VoiceOver was functioning normally, reading line by line as I arrowed down through my in box, each arrow down causing VoiceOver to read information about the next listed email, specifically who the email was from and the subjecgt and the date and the first 4 lines of the email. If I wanted to read an email, all I had to do was hit enter, and VoiceOver would be available to rad the text of the email by pressing arrow down to read line by line.

All of a sudden, focus started jumping to the beginning or end of my Apple Mail inbox every time I deleted an email or moved an email to another mailbox. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be much of a problem, but I have 100 emails in myh inbox, and I get dozens of new emails every day, so now I have to arrow arrow arrow to get to the middle where I had left off every time I move or remove email! Help! wringing hands fearfully

Hi, I updated to Mavericks today. Everything went well and i even updated my voices that i use with VO, however something has gone wrong with my mail. It opens, that is it loads the program and starts to pull in mail, only the user interface with menus, tool bars, mailboxes and whatnot isn't shown so i can not read any mail. I have tried repairing permissions and that speeded the rest of Mavericks up but mail still doesn't open. What could be wrong and what can i do about it?

um, guys, I am in a, well, a vary complicated situation on MacBook.
I tried to access my iCloud information, preferably that were using the sign in with Apple feature, I enter in my Apple ID password and it gives me a random error code number 15 for iCloud, so basically it won't let me login and gives me error 15, does anybody know what this error could be and how I could solve it? I've recently decided to go back to studying and I'm working with online courses. My deepest level of frustration is coming when I'm trying to take notes from video lectures and having to switch between apps pages and safari) try to stop the video and rewind and then jump back to pages over and over again. Any suggestions on how to make this less stressful? or is it that I'm being lazy?

I switched from using Jaws and Windows to using Voiceover and the Mac a few months ago. I updated to El Capitan soon after getting my first MacBook Air. I have noticed that my Air is very slow when loading webpages, or opening anything like system preferences. Also when I press a key, tab for example, there is a huge delay between the key being pressed and tab actually happening. This problem is not exclusive to tabbing. It doesn't matter what key I press. If my computer is completely shut down, and I turn it on, it's fine for a few minutes.

Hi, I have recently updated my MacBook to Catalina 10.15.4
This was the first time I’d updated the operating system in a long time. The voiceover speed reset to being quite slow, I used the slider to increase the speed to maximum but there is no change. It did change the speed of the voice selection example when I clicked the ‘play’ button, but has no effect on the speed anywhere else.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
